Belonging

Romans 14:8

If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

Okay, I admit it, I love the movie, Toy Story. I really like the sequels, too. I could go into some explanation of story lines, graphics and music. I could, but the bottom line is I just think it’s a great flick.

When we first meet Sheriff “There’s a snake in my boot” Woody, he is Andy’s favorite toy. In fact, Andy has scrawled his name on Woody’s boot. Woody clearly belongs to Andy.

Our verse today is so reassuring. Whether we honor God with our life or with our death, we belong to God.

We belong.

Is there a better feeling than belonging? Just knowing that God has accepted us, cares for us, and has great plans for us, should fill our hearts with joy!

We belong to God. No matter our circumstances, we belong.
