Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven: “The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”
If we focus too hard on it, today’s world can fill us with dread and fear. Gas prices rising, the morality of the world going off the rails, wars, and perilous financial times are all in our faces daily.
It is easy to see all of that and think, “We’re in trouble.” And if you are speaking about this earth, you may be right!
But as Christians we have a broader viewpoint. Yes, there are things that are wrong, and just plain crazy on this planet, but we know the end of the story. One day they are going to blow that trumpet in heaven, and usher in the reign of Christ.
Christ will rule, and unlike presidents, kings or dictators, Christ’s rule will never end. The day is coming when the trumpet will blow, and Christ will say, “Okay, that’s it, everybody out of the pool!” I am looking forward to adding my voice to the chorus of voices in heaven saying, “The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”
How do we insure our spot in that choir, and an eternity in heaven? We live for him today. As I look around the world today, I can’t help but feel that somewhere in heaven a trumpeter is licking his lips, getting ready to play a tune. Will you be ready?
