Exodus 9-11
It was a simple request: let my people go and worship God. Moses was emphatic as he could be.
But…
Pharaoh’s heart was hard. Even though God have him nine different chances to repent, nine different plagues to convince him, Pharaoh’s heart remained hard. After each plague, Pharaoh tried to strike a deal with God.
But…
God remained firm and unwavering. With God, it is all or nothing. No half measures, no kinda, no almost. Obey or pay the consequences. God is a loving God, and he offers chances to repent and get right with him.
But…
He won’t bargain with you. He won’t play “Let’s Make A Deal.” He offers you eternal life, forgiveness of your sins, and a better life, if you follow him.
But…
The choice is yours. Accept his love and flourish, or reject him and take your own chances in this life. Like Pharaoh, if you reject him often enough, he loves you enough to give you what you want, a life and eternity without him. Pharaoh found out that wasn’t a good choice.
