God’s Plans>My Plans
1 Corinthians 1:25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.
I was going to be a professional baseball player. Turns out, hitting curve balls is a mystery to me.
I was going to play professional football. Turns out, my knees disagreed.
I was going to do a lot of things. I had plans for my life. Turns out, God had a better plan.
I come from a line of ministers. I wanted to pastor churches like my Grandpa Brewer and Uncle Bill. Turns out, God had a better plan. The ministry God has given me has been different from theirs, but no less fulfilling.
All through my life I have found that God’s plans work so much better than mine. My plans usually wind up getting me in trouble, or result in me doing something stupid. And don’t get cocky, God’s plan for you is better than anything you can imagine, too!
So how do you discover God’s plan? You put your trust in him and listen to his guidance. You do that by spending time in prayer and reading the Bible. If you need wisdom or guidance, it is in those two disciplines. God is not going to keep you guessing, he loves you too much for that. All we have to do is trust and obey.
