God’s Timing
Exodus 12:40-41
The people of Israel had lived in Egypt for 430 years. In fact, it was on the last day of the 430th year that all the LORD’s forces left the land.
For 430 years the children of Israel had been living in Egypt. Much of that time they were slaves. For 430 years Israel had been looking for a home. God heard their cries, he saw their pain, so why would he wait so long to free them?
I don’t know. I know, I’m supposed to have all the answers. As a pastor, it is easy to fall into the trap of giving an answer and explaining everything. In truth, though, I just don’t know God does some things.
If I was God I would do a lot of things differently. I am also smart enough to know that if I was God we would all be doomed!
So I try not to question God’s timing. I may not know why he is waiting, but I know that it will benefit me, and possibly others, when he answers.
God’s timing isn’t like ours. God’s timing is perfect. Ours can be suspect, at bes t, and dangerous at worst.
So whatever you are waiting on God for, just keep trusting him. When it is the best time for you, God will answer, even if his answer isn’t one you wanted. Not only is his timing perfect, his answers are, too.
Just be glad you won’t have to wait 430 years!
