Good Fruit-Bad Fruit
Matthew 12:33 “A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.
It’s family movie night, and you decide you are hungry. So you pause the movie and head to kitchen to get a piece of fruit from the refrigerator. As you reach for the juicy apple that should be there, you are dismayed when you find a shriveled, slimy, rotten apple. Disgusted, you look in the cabinet for the Taco flavored Doritos. So much for being healthy!
A rotten apple isn’t appetizing. On the other hand, a nice crisp juicy apple is hard to pass up!
Our words reflect what is in our hearts. If our heart is full of anger and bitterness, our words will be filled with criticism, anger, and hatred. The people who see and hear us will not be attracted or encouraged. You can’t hide an angry heart, it will come out in your words, actions, and attitudes.
As a Christian our lives should be filled with the love of God, and that should be reflected in our actions, words and attitudes.
You can’t get good fruit from a lousy tree, and a lousy tree will never produce good fruit. If you are finding yourself with a bad attitude, or constantly in conflict, it is time to check your heart. What’s inside will come out!
