He leads me beside quiet waters
Psalms 23:2. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters
As a kid I learned the 23rd Psalm by heart. I could recite it, and did so proudly, whether anyone asked me to or not. I knew all the words in King James English, too!
I knew the words, but not the meaning. Now I do.
The photo that accompanies this column is my own. It was taken at Twin Lakes ACOE in South Carolina. The water was as smooth as glass, and it was incredibly peaceful sitting there.
The peace that I felt that night should be ours every day, but we let things crowd our minds. We let pressures steal our joy. We focus on the problem, not God our problem solver.
You don’t have to be on the banks of Hartwell Lake to enjoy peace. It is right there in quiet time with God. It could be in your car, your home, or on an afternoon walk in the city. The location isn’t important, our heart is.
Spend some time with God, you will feel the peace
I did a series of video lessons on the 23rd Psalm, you can check it out here: http://www.remnantchurchiv.com/sermon-series/baaaaa/
