Isaiah 8:20 Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.
The room was pitch black. Without my flashlight I couldn’t see two feet in front of my face. It was 3 am and I was working a homicide case in total darkness. We had no idea whether the killer was still in the house, so we were jumpy. I was armed with a flashlight and a video camera as the Investigator and I moved through the dark house. To say it was creepy would be an understatement. Finally the house was documented and we could look for lights to turn on. What a relief!
The lights that pierced the darkness of the house made everything easier. Now we could move and not destroy evidence, and we could seek justice for the victim.
The light made all the difference!
God’s Word is a light that makes the difference in our lives. With God and the Bible we are stumbling through life without a path to guide us, we stumble our way through life.
God’s Word is not always comfortable. The light that guides us also reveals areas where we need to clean up our act. The light not only gives us comfort, it shows us places where darkness has crept into our hearts. Yep, the light can be uncomfortable, but the darkness is deadly.
