Love Your Neighbor
Galatians 5:14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Have you ever had a bad neighbor? You know, one who plays loud music late at night, or parks in your space. One who has parties and never invites you. How could he not invite you? You’re fun!
Did you love them? Did you pray for them? Ask them if they needed anything? You should. Our verse today says we need to love our neighbor like we love ourselves.
I don’t want my neighbor snooping over my fence, so I won’t do it to them. I would love for my neighbor to be gracious and friendly, so I will model that for them.
They may never return the favor, that’s okay. That’s not part of the command, you have to do it, whether they respond well or not. It doesn’t say, “love them if they are nice.” It says love them.
It ain’t easy, but what in the Christian life is? Here’s what you need to know. If God requires it of you, he will give you strength to do it.
