No Favorites
Acts 10:34
Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.
If you grew up with brothers and sisters you know all about favoritism. Clearly, your parents have a favorite child, and clearly it is not you. How are you to survive this sea of injustice? You are doomed to spend the rest of your life like Tommy Smothers, saying, “Mom always liked you best.”
The good news from today’s passage is that God doesn’t play favorites. He loves you no matter what color, age, nationality, social status, or any other factor you can think of. God loves people, all people! Even you! And even crazier, he even loves me!
So we don’t have to walk through life with an inferiority complex. We don’t have to look at everyone around us and say, “God loves you best.”
Nope. We’re all on a journey, and God is right alongside us. Sure, some people have more money, or more clout, or more stuff, but we all have the same amount of God. An inexhaustible, never-ending, never contested pure love from our Heavenly Father.
So be encouraged today! You can walk into any room, anywhere on this planet and know that God loves you just as much as anyone in that room.
