In the Bible, very often when an angel appears to a human it says, “Do not be afraid.” Have you ever wondered why? I mean, who could be afraid of little chubby kids with wings?
I think today’s verse in Ezekiel may give us a clue. He had a vision of heaven and he described the cherubim like this: Ezekiel 10:12 Both the cherubim and the wheels were covered with eyes. The cherubim had eyes all over their bodies, including their hands, their backs, and their wings.
Or, as my friend, Dwayne Lagore, said, “Angels are NOT fat little naked babies!”
So what is the point of this post, other than to freak you out? To let you know that heaven is going to be so much more than we can possibly imagine! Not only are we going to see angels of all kinds, cherubim, seraphim and other “ims,” not only are we going to see loved ones who have gone on before us, we are going to see Jesus. We’ll see him face to face, walk with him, talk to him, and just be with him. And we have all eternity to do it.
