Pass It On
2 Corinthians 1:4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
Have you ever had trouble in your life? Unless you are only a day old, you have encountered times in your life that hurt you, upset you, or downright ticked you off! Troubling times are part of the human condition, but we don’t have to face them alone.
Many people think that God has abandoned them during their times of trouble. Not so! He is always with us, always beside us, ready to help us. He offers us comfort through our rough times.
Pastor Larry Grant wrote, “We must never think that trouble is an accident. For the believer, everything is a divine appointment. There are only three possible outlooks a person can take when it comes to the trials of life. If our trials are the products of “fate” or “chance,” then our only recourse is to give up. Nobody can control fate or chance. If we have to control everything ourselves, then the situation is equally as hopeless. But if God is in control, and we trust Him, then we can overcome circumstances with His help.”
Today’s verse tells us that God comforts us in our troubles so we can offer others the same comfort. Your suffering can serve a purpose. You can offers others the comfort that God gave you, and bless them. So if you are in a time of struggle or pain, reach out to God and let him comfort you. Then pass it on to others you meet. You will start to see troubles in a new light.
