Pray
Acts 12:5
But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Peter was in trouble, no doubt about that. King Herod Agrippa had already had James, the Apostle John’s brother, killed with a sword. When Herod saw how much the Jew liked that, he had Peter arrested for round 2. Herod was just waiting for Passover to end before he had Peter sliced up like halibut at a sushi restaurant.
So the church prayed. And they didn’t pray cheapie, Chicken McNugget prayers, they prayed earnestly. The dictionary describes earnestly as: “with deep and sincere feeling; seriously.” Peter’s life hung in the balance, and only God could save him.
And God did!
God organized a jailbreak like no other, and Peter was safe.
It all began with prayer, deeply felt and serious prayer. Whatever you have going on in your life, or the lives of those you love, prayer is the key. Serious, deeply felt, sincere prayer. Now that you know the key, to quote the old Nike ads; Just Do It!
