Ezra 9:6
I prayed, “O my God, I am utterly ashamed; I blush to lift up my face to you. For our sins are piled higher than our heads, and our guilt has reached to the heavens.
Ezra had heard of Israel’s sins, and was broken by it. He looked at God’s chosen people and all he could see was sin. So Ezra did what every follower of God should do, he prayed.
As we look at our nation, it is easy to feel what Ezra felt. And like Ezra, we should pray for it. Regardless of your politics or anything else, Christians should unite to pray for America and the world.
The great thing about Ezra’s prayer, and ours, is that others will be able to join us!
Ezra 10:1 While Ezra prayed and made this confession, weeping and lying face down on the ground in front of the Temple of God, a very large crowd of people from Israel—men, women, and children—gathered and wept bitterly with him.
We need to lead the way in our prayers. Our nation needs us!
