Ezekiel 28:25 “This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The people of Israel will again live in their own land, the land I gave my servant Jacob. For I will gather them from the distant lands where I have scattered them. I will reveal to the nations of the world my holiness among my people.”
I love old cars. I have had quite a few over the years, some in really good shape, some not so much. I think my favorite was a red 65 Ford Econoline pickup. It was rare, and very cool!
I watch car shows where guys take rusted out hulks of metal and turn them into beautiful show cars. I don’t have that kind of talent, but I want to give it a try one day. There is something cool about taking something everybody else has given up on and making it something everybody wants.
In today’s passage God reminds Israel that even though they are scattered and put upon, He has not forgotten them, and he will restore them.
God is still in the restoration business. I have seen him take lives that were written off; drug addicts, gang bangers, people swallowed up by their sin, and totally restore their lives. With a touch of God’s love and grace they become beautiful again.
If you feel like God has forgotten you, look to him. You will find a loving father who is more eager for you to come to him than you ever imagined. All you have to do is head toward him.
