Ecclesiastes 11:4 Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
I read about a conference at a very conservative church where people were given helium filled balloons and told to release them at some point in the service when they felt like expressing the joy in their hearts. Since they were very conservative, they felt that they weren’t free to say “Hallelujah, Praise the Lord.” All through the service some balloons ascended, but when it was over 1/3 of the balloons were unreleased. The majority of the parishioners were simply afraid to let their balloons go.
How often have we let fear keep us from doing something, even the right thing? We suffer from “the paralysis of analysis.”
We need to seize the day! A beautiful gold Mont Blanc pen that is out of ink can’t fulfill its purpose. When it is time to sign your paycheck you will reach for the .59 Bic Biro instead!
You are called to fulfill a purpose for the Kingdom of God, but you can’t fulfill that purpose until you step out. Conditions are never going to be perfect, you can always find a reason not to do it, but God has called you to do more. Seize today, don’t wait until tomorrow.
