SUCK IT UP, BUTTERCUP!
Acts 28:30-31. For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
The Apostle Paul had quite a prison ministry. Of course, he was actually IN prison when he had it. That is dedication! In today’s verse he is allowed to stay in a home, even though he is under guard and a prisoner.
I like the verse that says, “boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God…’ Paul was no shrinking violet, and he wasn’t going to let something small like prison keep him from boldly talking about Jesus.
I doubt many of you reading this are in prison, so what is your obstacle to boldly proclaiming Jesus? You know, maybe many of you are in prison.
You may be imprisoned by your fear of being ridiculed or rejected if you talk about Jesus. Well, suck it up, buttercup!
You have to push through that fear. You have to be stronger than your self-doubt. And God can give you that strength, you just have to ask. It is time for us to go beyond ourselves and lean into the strength that God offers us. There is a lost and dying world waiting to hear from you, buttercup!
