1 Thessalonians 1:2 We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.
A few years ago Citicard introduced a new line of credit cards that allowed you to build up points. The best of their commercials involved two ladies in the grocery store. The one lady puts her hand on the stomach of the other and asks her when the baby is due. The woman then looks at her and say, “I’m not pregnant.” Not knowing what else to say, the woman replies, “Thank you.” With this simple reply, the offended woman forgets the insulting words that were just uttered, and the two ladies embrace. Citibank then flashes their slogan across the screen that states, “It’s amazing what a simple thank you can do.”
“Thank you” is such a powerful phrase. It carries so much significance for the person who hears it. It means their efforts were appreciated. Thank you means that something they did was noted by someone else.
When is the last time you wrote a message of thanks to someone? Maybe a teacher who impacted you as a child, or a pastor who God has used in your life. Maybe it is a family member or friend who has always been there for you. Whoever it is, and for whatever reason, reach out to them. It doesn’t have to be long, or fancy, or even eloquent. An email or note of appreciation can make someone’s day. Who knows, maybe they will say “Thank you” to you?
1 Thessalonians 1:2 We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.
