Ephesians 4:16
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
I’m not a big puzzle fan. I can do okay with the edge pieces, they are fairly easy. Once the edge of the puzzle is done, it gets really hard for me. You see, I am not the most patient person in the world. My kids used to joke, “Dad stands in front of the microwave and heals, ‘Hurry up, I haven’t got all minute!’” Stinking kids…
I pick up a piece of puzzle, and here’s what I know. It is green with red flecks, and I Don’t have a clue where it is supposed to go. I try putting it along the edge, even though the edges pieces are all purple. It doesn’t fit. I try one more piece. It doesn’t fit, either. I am done!
God has decided to put all of us Christians into the Body of Christ. Every one of us is a puzzle piece, and we all belong somewhere.
Have you found where you belong yet? What gifts, talents and abilities do you have that can complete the Body of Christ? I am a firm believe that there is no such thing as an ungifted Christian. You have a part to play, a puzzle piece to be fitted.
You may try a few things and they don’t fit. For me, one of those is kids ministry. I tried it, but little kids scare me! So I tried more things, and eventually found a few places where I feel like I can be a blessing. And don’t count out things like being able to help behind the scenes, those are often some of the most important roles in the body.
The important thing is to keep trying. Your puzzle piece fits somewhere, and when you find your place, the picture is beautiful!
