Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
The painter’s canvas is blank. Stark white, boring, flat, nothing to see.
Slowly the painter begins preparing the paint. Shades of reds, blues, yellows are all mixed up and placed on the palette. Brushes are assembled. Some are tiny, some are fat, some pointy, some flat, some fan-shaped.
The painter already knows what he is painting. He can see the finished work in his mind. It will be gorgeous!
The first brush is loaded, set to the canvas, and the masterpiece slowly comes to life.
You were like that blank canvas once. Over the years your experiences, your joy, and your pain added colors and brush strokes to your life. God has labored over your life, adding grace, mercy, and correction as you have moved through your time on earth. The master painter has been painting your life day by day, hour by hour.
You are God’s masterpiece! There will never be another one like you. You are special, so valuable, that the God of Creation sent his own Son to die for you. Our verse today says he has created us anew. When you accept Christ you have a clean canvas for God to paint on. It is time for you to start seeing the masterpiece God is painting in you.
