Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.
You enter the second-hand shop looking for something interesting. There are tons of items, but nothing really catches your eye. Then, hidden beneath a worn out teddy bear you see a painting. Something about it seems familiar, but you just can’t place it. The painting costs a whopping $2, so it can’t be worth much, you reason. You put it back down next to the threadworm bear.
A week later you are watching the news on TV and a reporter is showing a person smiling from ear to ear. It seems they had been looking through a thrift store and found a painting worth millions, and they only paid $2 for it! As they hold up the painting, you recognize it as the one you held in your hands last week. For a small pittance you could have made a fortune. You turn back to your macaroni and cheese dinner and sigh…

Salvation is free because we could never pay for it in my own. No amount of good works, or being nice could buy salvation. In fact, the only contribution we make to salvation is our sin. God takes care of everything else.
While the cost of the painting was small, the rewards were amazing. So it is with following Christ. In one package he offers us salvation, eternal life, guidance through this life, and peace. Don’t pass up his offer of salvation. It is there for you, you just have to ask
