Too… Something
Exodus 7:7
Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three when they made their demands to Pharaoh.
I have to admit it, I am getting old. Not older, old.
Getting old is a weird phenomenon. People tell me to act my age, but I don’t know how, I’ve never been this age before. The hair on top of my head has been pushed down and out of my nose and ears. My bones creak. When I walk up stairs my knees crack so bad and so loudly that people dive for cover, thinking a shooting has broken out.
So my days of hair modeling for Brylcreem are over with. I won’t be running a marathon any time soon, unless they change the events to driving. And even then, meh.
Having sad all that, I can still serve God. I’m not to old to be used by Him. Neither are you.
And you’re not too young, either. You’re not too smart, or too dumb, or too… well , anything!
Moses tried to get out of leading the Israelites by saying, “Duh, Lord, I no talk so goodly.” God said, okay, here’s Aaron to talk for you. Now go.
For every reason you have not to do something for God, he has an Aaron. So quit making excuses, and start making yourself useful to God. There is a lost and dying world out there that you can, and must, reach. Even if you’re too… something!
