U-Turn
Acts 14:15
“Friends, why are you doing this? We are merely human beings—just like you! We have come to bring you the Good News that you should turn from these worthless things and turn to the living God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.
On our first RV journey across the country, we were still newbies. I couldn’t find a GPS program I liked (I have since found a great one), so I relied on the Apple Maps app. The problem is that Apple Maps make no differentiation between my Ford Edge and my motorhome. Trust me when I tell you that there is a BIG difference between the car and the RV.
So when we got to a place where the app said, “Make a u-turn at the following corner,” I was in trouble! A 31 foot motorhome with a car attached to it doesn’t exactly turn on a dime. Unless the dime is the size of North Dakota, then maybe, just maybe if I get a good early run at it. As you can see, we don’t do many u-turns in the coach.
Our lives are quite a bit different from the motorhome. In the motorhome u-turns are to be avoided at all costs. In our lives, one u-turn is mandatory, and that is the u-turn from our old lives to the better life that Christ offers us.
It doesn’t matter how long you have been on the road you are on, just know that a road that doesn’t include following Christ is a bumpy road indeed. It doesn’t matter who you are, or what you have done, God not only allows u-turns, he makes them easy.
Just spend a moment and pray, letting God know that you need a u-turn. You accept Jesus as your savior, and you want him to guide and direct your life. Yep, it’s that easy. If you have questions, or have made a decision to follow Jesus and want to know the next steps, drop me a line.
