What A Contrast!
Revelation 5:13 And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”
I love today’s passage! John got a glimpse of heaven, and he witnessed all creation singing praises to Christ. How amazing it must have been!
Who are they praising? This passage tells us: The Lamb of God, who took away our sins. Jesus, the lowly kid from the manger.
Jesus, who was born in weakness and died for our weaknesses. Yet he is ascribed all power.
Jesus, who was the poorest of the poor, yet he has all the riches of heaven and earth.
Jesus, who was laughed at and scorned, yet he is the very wisdom of God.
Jesus, who hungered, thirsted, and became weary, yet now in Heaven he has all strength.
Jesus, who experienced humiliation and shame on a cross. They laughed at his kingship then, but now he has received all glory and honor!
What a contrast! We don’t have to wait for Heaven to worship him. We can experience the Risen Christ today and praise his glory!
