You Do It!

Luke 16:2

But Jesus said, “You feed them.”

“But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”

The disciples had a problem. They had too many mouths to feed and too little food to feed them. So they went to Jesus.

I’m pretty sure Jesus’ solution freaked them out: “You feed them.” There it was, a simple directive. All they had to do was obey. Mind you, the disciples had seen miracles before this day. Jesus had sent them out, and they, too, performed miracles through Jesus’ power.

But today they balked. All they came up with was excuses and more problems, so Jesus took care of it.

How often I do we get direction or a directive from God and come up with more problems or excuses?

“Lord, reach my friend for you.”

God answers, “You tell them about me.”

We immediately start whining, “Oh, but Lord, I’ve never been to seminary, or taken a class on soul winning. I wouldn’t know what to say.”

To borrow a phrase from Nike: Just do it!

We miss out on growth and blessings when we avoid God’s call to do something. Get on with it!
